This course is designed to educate parents about local and state guidelines and rules, assist in complying with court orders, and educate on the topics or child development, communication and effective parenting plans. In addition, co-parenting couples will learn topics related to decision making, living and financial arrangements as they develop their parenting plans. This course will present the necessary tools and practices that will assist in identifying their goals and strengths to assist them in reaching those goals. Finally, Co-Parents will learn about effective communication, protecting their child(ren) and skills in cooperative parenting in the best interest for their children.
Each course participant will complete a communication style profile understanding differences in the ways people communicate and how to apply those principals to their own families. Each co-parenting couple will create an individual parenting plan complete with a calendar spanning at least one year by the end of the course.
The course will be held on a weekday evening for two hours. Generally, start time will be at 6:00 p.m. and will conclude at 8:00 p.m. on scheduled class days.
